An update for those following my medical nightmare annoyances - I am now taking pills (prescribed by the doctor I like and trust) to try and bring down my blood pressure. The side effects on the leaflet are numerous -some scary, some just horrifying. And on day 2 I have had three of them. But I am soldiering on as apparently it will all get better. Hmmm.
A friend of mine was talking about his total inability to move a conversation from ‘normal’ to ‘can I have your phone number?’ with any woman that he takes a shine to. He is terrified of falling into the ‘friend zone’ again. He asked me if I had any suggestions on how to segue from one to the other. Being as rubbish as, well, he is I had nothing - anyone out there want to offer suggestions?
The sun was out again today which is weird. I mean not weird weird but… it’s Spring and the sun is out… and I checked I am still in England. (I’m scared)
I swear… probably… that I am going to write a real (that is one not based on a meme and has required real, y’know, effort to do) GBBMC08 post tomorrow. I do feel quite bad at the way I have not kept up with this.

We went from this

Still no flying trees though.
In 30 days I will be 30. Nothing else to say about that right now.

80 mile an hour winds, buckets of rain, waves crashing up to the sky and bits of tree and houses trashing everything in site?
Everywhere but here. We got about an hour of rain and then a gorgeous sunset (you’ll have to take my word for it - I forgot I had my camera with me); it wasn’t even windy enough to turn my cheap Primark umbrella inside out. I suppose I should be grateful that I’m not going to wake up and discover a tree on my bed or something but… oooo, anything for a little excitement!
I had a day today. Work was all fine and fun as usual but this evening I just felt tense. I felt unwanted, unneeded, useless, crap and all those happy happy words. It was one of those evenings when I just wanted to throw my hands up in the air and scream ‘why do I bother?’ or something equally as melodramatic. It was the kind of day when I really really wished I hadn’t given up chocolate for Lent - I could have eaten my own weight in the stuff today! Oh, only two more weeks to go! Hurrah!
and then… mmmm, Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, Galaxy, Dime Bar, Mars Bar, and yes even you - Reeces Peanut Butter Cups - all of you shall come second to this

It’s a five stone (about 30kg) easter egg, made by L’Artisan du Chocolat, sold at Selfridges for £499 ($1002.49). And worth every bloody penny. Four people have already bought one. 168,540 calories in it. That’s just beautiful.

Today I finally got round to watching the first episode of Series 2 of Torchwood and I have to say I was mightily impressed. Jokes and running, danger and the sexy sexy James Marsters. Lovely. I won’t say too much about it as I know that it starts in America soon and, well, I don’t want to spoil things. But just let me say the scene with Jack and James Marster’s character when they first see each other… yum!
I had planned to go to the Apple Store tomorrow to get memory and Leopard, iWork and iLife 08. BUT as these things tend to be I have now to cancel said pleasure trip and do about a million other things instead. So my pleasure trip has been put off until next weekend. Do ya here that Manchester? Prepare for my arrival next weekend!
I could dribble on about the weather but it’s doing enough dribbling of it’s own. Needless to say I don’t see any sunbathing in my near future. In fact not needing a boat to get to work would be an achievement. This is me at my most English - discussing the weather really is a default setting for this country. It’s pretty much the oly one left.
