One of our Beaver Leaders left today. It got a bit emotional as he is a very popular member of our group. I had to make a farewell speech following one of the assistant beaver leaders. She was organised and had hers all written down; I was unorganised and high on cough syrup and large amounts of caffeine so you can imagine the rambling rubbish that came out of me!)
Today, thought, I spent some time in Harbl’s coffee shop and , yes, cybercafe in Preston. It’s a little place that seems to be mostly visited by students and the Bohemian element but it was opposite the bus stop, round the corner from work and laptop friendly… And I had to get the presentation material ready for the leaving.
The coffee was magnificent, being exactly the right level of strong and tasty to keep me going until, well, my battery died (yes, I am the idiot who forgot to charge laptop) and the staff and other customers were friendly without being obtrusive – and there was nice art on the walls. Found my ‘other side of Preston’ coffee shop finally! But I will never understand why the name!
