I finished work… On time. It felt odd to be walking outof there at 5 o’clock, but I had to get back for the first Christmas Coffee Morning Meeting. Turns out I could have stayed for an hour (following one bus not showing up, one cab company letting me down by going to the wrong end of town and then waiting half an hour for a reliable company to show up) leaving on time seemed a bit silly.
Anyway, had meeting in warmth as (hurrah) new heating has been installed. We have industrial sized halogen heaters that emit a strange orange light (strange but cheaply toasty) giving the hut a whole new feeling. It took a bit of getting used to but means now we also don’t have to have lights on when all the heaters are on. Lovely.
The meeting was unusual in that it started on time and finished in plenty of time for me to get home and watch Heroes… which I ended up missing. Thank God for iPlayer. I missed it as there was much talking and throwing round of ideas when I got home as Mum wants so badly to be involved but also wants to keep her promise to herself that she would step back. Difficult.
The coffee morning should be good. Carol singers, Santa in a grotto and lots of home made gifts. And metres upon metres of tinsel! I can’t believe I’m thinking about Christmas already but I suppose it will be time to get th shopping started soon. Ugh.
And now to complete my ontime day I am going to bed tucked up with Heroes and then drift into a soundless* sleep. Night to you all, you beautiful people.

Glad to hear you got out on time. That’s always nice. I’m having a nicer than average day here too. My stressed out supe is out for the day. That makes this place so much less stressful.
this post slightly implies that christmas is near at hand – that can’t be right, surely? xx
Paul Johns – Out on time one day. One day. I will remember it for quite some time!
rivergirlie – It’s only 76 days to go…
