So, there it is.  The moment we have all been waiting for.  The Large Hadron Collider was switched on and…

… no black holes apocalyptic end of the world nonsense.  Just science at it’s best.  The first ‘crash’ in a few weeks will be fascinating.  But until then… we can all feel safe in the knowledge that CERN is not going to kill us all!

Lovely.

So I got my blood pressure meds today (hurrah) and took one as soon as I got in.  Had entirely forgotten how rubbish they made me feel when I first took them.  Ugh.

Speaking of ‘ugh’.  We have recently had a spate of ‘darling’ pets from the neighbourhood using our back garden as their own personal ‘facilities’ so finding a way to stop them has become something of an obsession in this house.

We have tried the little blue gel crystals that don’t work, and the purple spray that makes humans heave but apparently makes cats fall asleep on the grass. (Well, my cat anyway… she then came into the house for cuddles.  We all went outside for a bit)

We are currently trying the appropriately named Get Off (yes, I have had that prince song stuck in my head all flipping day).

Now as you can see, the ad says one bottle should cover 40 square metres.  40.  The patch of grass we want covering is about 9 square metres.  So… of course the whole bottle went down.  The wind stirred a little and a whiff of… oh okay.  Apparently the smell that will ‘confuse’ cats and dogs is the same as that which comes off a citronella candle.  (Hey, at least the garden will be bug free!).  My lovely cat went outside and sat next to the grass and sniffed the air… and immediately fell asleep again.

Well, at least she’s not taking a crap.
