Yes, this is a girly post. I have a decision to make. Hair cut tomorrow (at the greatest hairdressers ever – Trendies in Kirkham – end of commercial break). This is my I need to feel better about myself and keep head from drifting below the misery hair cut. A saviour hair cut if you will!
My problem is I have been making terrible terrible decisions recently so…
I went to a very useful website, Yearbook Yourself, that Hilly and SJ pointed out a while ago
(Yes, these are crap but… no excuses)
First the original…
And now in order, 1958, 1968, 1978, 1988 and 1998.
I am seriously considering the afro. I have to lose at least some of the length as it’s becoming a problem… well, less of a problem and more… well, because it’s the length it is I just tend to throw it into a ponytail and that’s it. Ponytails do not suit my face (Hide the face! Hide it!) but it’s easy and then I can get on with the important business of the day… y’know… doing things that I then feel stupid for doing. Speaking of yesterday – a couple of lovely emails from people who agreed with me yesterday really cheered me up and made me feel less worthless. Then I spent some time moving forwards with the project in a less ‘oh what’s the point’ ( is that nihilistic? Or am I thinking of something else?) way.
So ideas people come on! And no I’m not shaving my head. (Hide Hide Hide the face!)… Oooo, maybe a Cousin It?

You totally need a ‘fro in real life.

Clearly you’re thinking of some sort of ‘emo’ cut, with a long pointy bit hanging other half of your face.

I say some sort of fringey, long layers thing, with long whispy bangs as well. That would look so cute on you!

Yay, new hairstyle! No! I hate new hairstyles.
I’m tempted to vote blond fro so I could know there was someone out there with freakier hair than me, but I vote for a top of the shoulder or a couple of inches under the chin for length and lots of choppy layers. You could use a flat iron when you have time or wash & go with some light hair gel.
The cool thing about a different haircut is that people don’t know the difference if you can’t style it the way the hairdresser did.

kapgar – Want? Obviously. Need? Not so much!
yorksdevil – Being that I don’t really understand what emo is… Other than not being a princess chav creature… probably!
Avitable – I’m saving it for my old age.
Hilly – A sensible answer?! It’s like the end of the world! Thanks!
Nat – I had a style very very similar to the flippy do for a long time – will find photos!
ame i – I never can get it right again! I buy ALL the product and then it sits on my shelf and looks pretty!
Kevin Spencer – It is a favourite.
moby – And even though she doesn’t have an afro in it I am getting the tunes form Sister Act running through my head… which is no bad thing!
Martin Howarth – I really wish I’d had one at school though – although there was a perm incident that nearly gave me one!
lia – I have had a boy cut in the past and, holy God, was that a mistake!

Just stick emo hair into google image search and you should get plenty of examples.
