Exercise

Oh, exercise bike!  Sitting under a pile of junk in the garage for the last year it has been. Yes.  Gathering dust and the odd cobweb; and as I discovered with one spider still living in them.  Yes, I made the girly noise and ran out of the garage while the spider disappeared under a box of kitchen stuff that I am never moving again.

It took a lot of effort getting it out and then cleaning it with my new favourite fly killer (lemon kitchen cleaner – they get stuck and then comes down the ‘old sponge being thrown out’ death – oh, yes, living near a farm sucks so very much).  The moving things about so the bike fit in an out of the way place, and then the trying not to laugh as I accidentally turned the tension all the way up and could barely move the wheels… all of these things meant I was too damn tired to get anywhere near doing any actual exercise.

Now, all I have to is come up with a reasonable taget to do each and every day and figure out how to balance my MacBook nearby so I can watch crap on it with my headphones on (so as not to disturb anyone else) and we’re cool.  Well, ridiculously hot and sweaty but cool.

The only other thing I have done today is try to fix the theme here so that those who still use IE* can come and comment.  I failed.  Hence the reason the old one is back up. Yes, it sucks but I can’t be bothered tonight.  Yes, shake your head in dismay.  But, it’s not like anything else to do.  I’ll be fixing tomorrow.  Y’know, after the huge amount of exercising I’ll be doing.

As I’ve stated in Twitter and to others, IE is a large pain for anyone because it requires so many different changes to make work. Even over on my blog, IE 6 makes the page look all weird (the two right-hand columns are at the very bottom of the page… IE 7 doesn’t have the same issue).

I say to all… move to Firefox or Safari.

Now when I saw the Exercise title, I was thinking something else. LOL

I keep my unused exercise equipment dust free by hanging clothing on it to dry.

And, before Lady Penelope has a chance to, let me just say I’m not beyond making the girlie noise where spiders are involved.

  3. I had some spider issues myself recently. I live way out in the desert and have some rather entertaining, er, wildlife ;-)

I like the new look. If this is a stop-gap measure, it’s a good one at least.

Man, I freaking hate exercising. I totally understand the need to distract yourself while getting it over with. I find it easier to go for a walk around the neighborhood or walk to rent a movie instead of drive. It goes by faster because you’re not focusing on the horrible fact that you are actually exercising.

But uh… keep it up. Not trying to deter you or anything. :S

    lovin the new look!
As for exercise, i got a dog it means you have to goo on long walks or you get the puppy dog eyes and the moaning. But failing that having a piece of machinery in your room/house that means you can put your music on and do it while watching or listening to something else all is good…..i only wish i could get a running machine but there so damn expensive.

Ahh! I was wondering why everytime I tried to get on this blog it automatically closed down… Very strange, but yep I’m using IE.

martymankins – Boo to IE – boo! BOO! I don’t know why, but I am amazed how many people still use IE. Anything I can do to speed up the transfer to any other browser is fine by me!

delmer – I remember the posts re your great love of spiders. Funnily enough the bike does have a towel draped over it right now.

Kevin Spencer – desert sized spiders? Ugh… This is a reason I like England – no extreme wildlife.

Paul Johns – even when walking anywhere I have to have my iPod on – I get bored so very very easily. Sitting in the garden – iPod, going anywhere on any kind of transport iPod or radio. Silence is not a thing I can do well.

Neil – I don’t hate this theme but it’s not widget ready and it is such a major pain in the arse – things are in motion. September will have to be a relaunch… heh. I am a cat person and therefore the option of a dog is just something I can’t get my head around.

Jo – Yes, this blog has been channelling my deep hatred for Microsoft without me even realising it. Bless it.

Other than listen to my iPod on the treadmill (when I go to the gym, which will be a regular thing soon), I try to think of other ways to be productive. Balancing my MacBook Pro isn’t one of them.

martymankins – I have given up on the balancing act… It almost hurt my MacBook – an act for which I could never forgive myself.
