Bird
No, don’t move, don’t run or fly away. I’m not really here. I mean nothing to you.
I won’t move any closer - for fear, for awe, for respect, for love.

You are magnificent and you know it.
And that glint in your eye says you know that although I am taking pictures quietly in apparent worship of your form, I am scared shitless of you and all your winged friends, and that if you so much as take a step towards me I will be off up that hill as fast as my feet can take me (which ain’t all that fast).
But now I am inside the house and am listening to your call, I know I am safe enough to do the magnificent Avitable’s meme.

I never would have thought a peacock could roost on a fence. I thought they’d lack the balance and the jumping/flying ability.

And how the fuck have you never seen The Naked Gun?

Umm a peacock? That’s rather random! Was he lost?
Your list is much more impressive than mine, but then I didn’t ever expect to do that well ;o)
You haven’t seen A Room with a View? Oh you must! It’s just gorgeous. Makes me want to move to Italy immediately!

Peacocks are pretty birds, but the noise they make is bloody awful

Nat - I hate the whole flappy lot of them. This particular specimen came from either a peacock farm about a mile away, or more likely from ‘across the road’ where quite a few ‘farm’ birds live in someones back yard… and when I say yard I mean field.
delmer - In my mind they hover like Satanic creatures… or new Daleks… That noise they make… evil.
Avitable - Are you sharing your ego about with the less fortunate now? You see what the problem is - they put the full title down of The Naked Gun and I became confused thinking it was a ’side’ film or something… But of course I’ve seen Naked Gun 1.
Yes. I am a dumbass.
Penelope - Room with a View - on my list to see asap! Looking at how many films I had seen has only made me realise how much I need to get out!
Dan - And this little blighter was shouting the odds until 11 o’clock last night.

I hate birds. Especially that whole pooping-on-your-head-without-warning part.

I can’t believe you’ve never seen The Player. Unforgiven and No Country For Old Men can also be recommended.

Avitable - So long as it wasn’t over the plants that’s fine!
Momo Fali - They really should be forced to wear bells of some kind. Lucky poop? My left butt cheek.
yorksdevil - Unforgiven? Western, right? Not a chance I’ll like it.

We had one of those sitting on a neighbor’s roof. It would get right above the air intake vents of the house and cry out, at all hours of the day and night. They finally had to have someone come and remove it (they took to a local aviary). Beautiful bird, noisy as hell as 2am.

martmankins - 2am? There’s a guy down the road who threw a shoe at a peacock at midnight - he was a crap directional thrower (with apparently a good arm) and put his wife’s heel through the window of his car. His wailing drowned out the bird. 2am? I would’ve been homicidal!
