delmer - okay, now THAT is cheeky. He cold have at leat given you free stuff!

Blondefabulous - I remember the Virgin Mobile thing - I think they ended up buying her off quietly... which is what usually ends up having!

yorksdevil - I'm not angry enough to be throwing suits made of law. Just miffed, There certainly are two groups in Kirkham - us and 1st Kirkham & Wesham. The funny and confusing thing is we used to be 1st Kirkham and then there was a re-organisation of the names and... oh, ancient history. The major difference is we rock and they really don't!

<em>Bec's last blog post..<a href='http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/OutOfMyTree/~3/311497026/' rel="nofollow">Cheeky Bastards</a></em>

You should most definitely sue the arse off whoever made that poster. Does that logo suggest there are two scout groups in Kirkham? I never realised it was so big as to need more than one.

Last year there was a big brouhaha over the company called Virgin Mobile, and it's snatching of a photo from Flickr and then using said photo in a huge overseas ad campaign. The photo was from a teen who had started taking pictures as a hobby, and she and her parents were quite upset about not having been asked about VM using the photo, compensation for the photo, etc... I never heard what had happened with it, but your post reminded me of it.

Not long ago someone sent me an e-mail with a photo that had been doctored and used to win a contest his company had run. In the mail he asked if the photo was one I'd taken and if my boys and I were fans of the product his company sold.

As it happens, the boy and I are big fans of the product his company sells (we can get similar product at the local store for $5.00 or less (which I think is something like 50p these days) and I thought he might be considering sending us free samples -- you know, since a photo had been borrowed from my site, doctored, and used to win a prize.

I don't mind that the photo was nabbed without permission and against the copyright I've posted. And I honestly don't mind that the next mail from the guy tried to sell me stuff. It's just that I thought *that* was kind of cheeky.
