To be honest, I’m not much for weddings… but as a male, I think most men are not all that into weddings. I say that even though I’m getting married in less than 3 weeks…. I’m excited, but I’m also smart by letting my other half plan what she wants. There are some things that both of us like, which is nice… like we both wanted to get married on a beach… we compromised by having the ceremony on Lake Tahoe.

The added bonus of timing is that California will start issuing marriage licenses for same-sex marriages, which both my fiance and I are elated about (even though we are hetero, we fully support the rights to everyone)

Selma - Ooo yes, those ballerina bastards! God, how I wanted to be one of them when I was younger. I did ballet classes for 6 years and only quit because the teacher up here was rubbish. It made me feel like I could be the prettiest princess… but I always was ’solidly’ built.

The best song I ever heard at a wedding was requested at the end of the reception (not this one) after the Groom had stoodon the Bride’s dress and torn it a little. Ugly Kid Joe (I Hate) Everythign About You. Me thinks he did not have a Happy Honeymoon!

I hate ballerinas much more than brides or marathon runners. It makes me mad that I’ll never be that thin, or that fit, or able to wear tulle and satin whenever I feel like it. Damn ballerinas. There is nothing better than ‘Hit the road Jack’ being played at a wedding except of course for ‘Feelings’ or ‘ Islands In The Stream.’ Glad you had a good time.

Nat - I really should have written self satisfied smug marathon runners - the ones who insist they are better than you because they’ve done it. Actually I don’t hate marathon runners - I am, pretty much like people who are involved in weddings just blindly jealous. And how could I ever hate you?

Noooooooooo… she hates me. (Honestly, a marathon is just one foot in front of the other. And no I’m not uber fit.)

The only thing worse than wedding is brides, not sure what happens to otherwise intelligent women when they become brides. I’ll spare you my long diatribe about sexist and outdated traditions.

Yeah, I’ve been to a ton of weddings. I love the people, but not a fan of weddings in general. Still, I have hope that one day I’ll step upon the altar once more.
