Selma – Glad you approve (also kind of glad you’re not posting this week – don’t need that kind of humiliation when your piece shows up and is 100 times better than mine ) . A continuation? Will have to let my brain have a little wander around and catch that particular dream. Soon.

Penelope – I like the idea of a magical fix… the best ones are the ones you work for though… No part 2 on ‘paper’ yet but one is beginning to float… Glad you like it.

Quantumfog – Preston (the nearest big town in which I work everyday) has just been declared the gun capital of the NorthWest. Fun. Never does a day go by without a tragic stabbing or shooting on the news. There has been at least four within 600 metres of my office front door within the last 3 weeks.
It’s becoming a real problem that is affecting everyone and their daily activities. The ‘no-go’ areas are getting bigger, and the phrase ‘scared to walk down the street’ is becoming more coming. So, yep, observation is very correct. Interesting little addition – with all the CCTV cameras, we are one of the most watched countries in Europe and yet only 3% of crimes are solved using footage gained.

Once again, this has nothing to do with the topic of your post.

I make it a daily habit to check online news services, the BBC among them. Seems of late, that violent crime is increasing in the UK.

Is my observation incorrect?

Oh Bec this was glorious and so worth the wait!
I especially loved this line “It was ridiculous to think that by returning to the place where her dreams died she would find them again” Haven’t we all done huh?
Hate to be an echo but I would also love to know what happened next – is there a part 2? ;o)

Don't we all wish we had a touchstone we could return to so the pain of the past could be erased? I liked the theme of this story. The image created by the phrase - 'Fly past the world' is glorious. I'm so glad you are a part of Writer's Island now. I haven't written anything this week (work overload) but I am delighted you did.
