Tomorrow a new shop opens in Kirkham .
It’s about the size of a garage and expects to have about 2-5,000 customers in one week.
Tomorrow at 11am (not early risers then) the new Kirkham & Wesham FC Shop opens…
…for one purpose and one alone. To sell tickets for the FA Vase Final on May 11th, 2008 at Wembley (a day on which I can GUARANTEE my post will be late, or a meme) against the ‘lucky’ Lowestoft Town
Feelings are running high and people are planning to queue form quite early. All the other shops are worried/ excited about crowds… If it’s not raining I may pop down with the camera to see what it’s like.
Seriously the most exciting thing to happen in Kirkham since… forever.

I’m not a footie fan at all but I do love these stories about “smaller” clubs getting to Wembley and kicking some arse!

I don’t really see why they’re bothering to have it at Wembley. If the stadium is going to be about 90% empty they might as well have the match at a more suitably sized ground, such as Millmoor. I don’t think it does anything for the atmosphere when the ground is mostly empty; much better to have a smaller ground full.

That shop is going to be choc-a- bloc. You English people are footy mad. We Scots masquerading as Aussies like to pretend we’re not as mad as you but in fact we are. I like a good footy scarf myself, or a beanie. Makes watching the games more fun!

OMG i went down today and it was busy outside lol cant believe how many people where quieing to get ticktes my brother was waiting about an hour to get his tickets lol. Cant wait till 11th May it will be fantacstic and we are going to kick some asses at the match cos KIRKHAM AND WESHAM ARE THE BEST and we know it hehe. Talk soon x

Penelope - Oh God, I hope we do kick some arse. A win would really lift my spirits!
yorksdevil - It’s Wembley! It makes it an occasion as opposed to just having at some scratty little ground somewhere. It’s something for the smaller clubs to talk about - We went to Wembley! Everything just gets amped up a little more there - concerts, matches, any event.. lovely.
Selma - Oh yes, footie mad we are. Well, any excuse for a party really! Scarf being bought during the week!
Hayley - I hope so… Am quietly optimistic about our chances - let’s just hope the town comes out to support it’s lads. This is the time for supporting and not showing ourselves up! let’s hope there is no trouble…
