Outbreak

Every day I go to the BBC News website and read the Most Popular Stories Now, Worldwide. Usually there is something funny in there or epic or ridiculous. Today’s has a story about Scottish author’s being pissed about the US Library of Congress reclassifying them as English, and another about the kickoff to a little event called the US election campaign (I think, I don’t really understand it all - I need to go back and watch The West Wing again).

The Most Emailed at the moment is a small event of 100,000 people a week getting sick with a norovirus. Sounds scary? Sounds like the film I saw yesterday is apt? Nah… It’s just a winter vomiting virus, here in the UK. If you get it you have it for 48 hours, bowl-hugging for two days. Doctors are recommending that you stay at home while you have it and then for a further 48 hours after the symptoms go away to avoid the risk of further contamination.

Now, I know it’s just psycho-symptomatic but my stomach feels a little wobbly and even with the window open I’m feeling a little sweaty. But even though the advice says stay away from work I am so going in tomorrow. I am to be a carrier monkey tomorrow… probably…
